Podcast- Holton Rower |

I do not enjoy listening to the sound of my voice but I did enjoy this project. Writing the script and gathering images was the easiest part. After that recording and editing the audio wasn't difficult either. Audacity was very easy to use, the hard part was trying to download and save everything in the correct file types. I had to also download LAME for audacity and clip grab to pull things off of Youtube. Then I had to update clipgrab so it would be compatible with Youtube. I also had to use google many times to learn how to do specific things in specific programs especially imovie. After doing it once I feel confident I could do it again much faster. As a teacher I can see teaching a lesson on creating a podcast or using this method to create lectures. I took an art history class that was a flipped classroom and the professor used this method. We would watch the lectures at home and then come to class and study with a group and take a quiz. It worked really well for me because I am an auditory learner. I can definitely use this method for certain lectures.

Group Project: Idiom Collage
Here is a link to the anticipatory set we created on a flash cards website called Cram, our Power Point and our lesson plan.
Our group wanted to explore the ties between language and art because art is a form of communication. We want students to create an collage based on an idiom that resonates with them. The idiom could be cultural or even something specific to their family. The possibilities of the english language are endless and so are the possibilities of collage.

Here is my personal Collage that is not appropriate for high school. My great grandmother only spoke Spanish. When you learn a new language the first thing everyone wants to learn is the curse words. When she would get upset she would say in English," Shitty to hell the damn fish!" No one knew what she was trying to say or corrected her because it was too funny. My family still says it from time to time.
Stop Motion Animation
This was way out of my comfort zone so I enlisted the help of my little cousins and their toys to make a stop motion. They created the story and I helped them film it. Frank is 9 and Sam 5. They worked together and with my suggestions this is what we came up with. I'm sorry this song will be stuck in your head all day.
Setting: Los Angeles/ Space
Characters: Iron Man, Star Lord, and two pro WWE wrestlers.
There once were two superheroes flying through space (in the millennium falcon). Their space ran out of gas. They started to make a crash landing in Los Angeles. They landed on two wrestlers cars. The wrestlers weren’t too happy about it. They got out and they said…
Wrestlers- “Who do you think you are?”
Superheroes- “We’re superheroes!”
Wrestlers- “You don’t look so super to me!”
It broke out into a fight. They were all throwing lefts and rights and jabs and kicks.
*fighting sounds
The super heroes won the fight. They got gas and snacks from the local 7/11, and went back to outer space.
*dancing
The end

Tinkercad wearable- Silly Goose
The Tinkercad program was easy to figure out but difficult to use. It would have been easier for me to use a drawing pad and stylist but I only had access to my tracker pad on my Mac book. I knew what I needed to do in order to render what I wanted but when using the tracker pad I couldn't always get it right. I also did not know it was going to print in the machine before I started design. If I had known how it was going to print I would have designed it on its back and used flatter larger shapes. Even after I reworked it, my silly goose key chain has pieces that are delicate can easily break off. Overall, I'm happy with the result and I truly do feel that this animal represents me.
Making a video tutorial was a lot like making a podcast. Now that we are at the end of the semester, using Audacity and Imovie was a bit easier. I was able to make this very quickly compared to my other projects. I think that means that I am getting more comfortable with technology.
